Description
Dutch Iris is more common name and recognized by gardeners too, but its also known as Hollandica Iris. Usually Iris’ have rhizomes as root, but these Iris have bulbs instead. They come in quite a few colors. They can be grown in bed or pots both. they require good amount of sun light for good growth and results.
Plant them 6″ apart in good drained soil. They produce spiky leaves and flower stalk of 10″ to 12″ long, They are very successful in our plains, they also multiply very quickly and can fill up its surrounding in only few years.
Once they complete their lifecycle, you could either leave them in soil or take them our for dormancy period and plant them again.
They are very easy going and very successful bulb plant, highly recommended for gardeners who love bulbs.
